After
graduating from the
University
of
Virginia
in 1972, Mr. MacPherson spent ten
years in various leadership
positions in public accounting,
public utility accounting, and
manufacturing – including two
years with Peat Marwick Mitchell
& Company, one of the Big-8
accounting firms. During that time, Mr.
MacPherson owned and operated
several companies, including a
public accounting company and a
residential construction company.
In 1982 Mr. MacPherson purchased a
Kwik Kopy quick-print franchise,
which later became Performance
Printing.
During
the next 20 years, Mr. MacPherson
increased the sales of his
quick-print company from $ 60,000
to $ 378,000 per month – making
him the single largest franchisee
in the Kwik Kopy system, and the
11th largest
single-location quick-print
company in
America. Also, during that time, Mr.
MacPherson started, purchased,
sold, and/or merged nine different
printing companies, including a
division of a publicly held
company
In
2002, Mr. MacPherson sold his
interest in his printing company
and spent the next 18 months
converting his clients to the new
owner. He also developed their
corporate Marketing Plan, Sales
Plan, and Procedures Manual.
Mr.
MacPherson has a BA in Accounting
from the
University
of
Virginia
, served as a member of PIAG
(Printing Industry of Georgia)
Board of Directors, has practiced
public accounting in Virginia and
Georgia, and has a Georgia Real
Estate License.
Mr.
MacPherson is an avid golfer, who
also enjoys fishing and reading.
He has been married to his
wife, Lois, for 27 years, and has
two adult children.
